Day of Mourning

Day of Mourning

Marked annually in Canada on April 28, the National Day of Mourning is dedicated to remembering those who have lost their lives, suffered injury or illness on the job, or experienced a work-related tragedy. We also recognize the many families and friends who have been deeply affected by these tragedies.

Pause. Reflect. Remember.

We remember workers who have died, were injured, or became ill from their job and we grieve with those whose lives were forever changed by a workplace tragedy.

National Day of Mourning serves as a reminder to make work a place where people are safe and can thrive. Together, let's renew our commitment to improving health and safety in the workplace and preventing further injuries, illnesses, and deaths.
